Kahlon wins Emaar-MGF championship;earns ticket to Dubai Classic

Bangalore, Dec 22 (UNI) Harmeet Kahlon kept his cool and carded a level-par 72 round to win the Emaar-MGF PGTI Championship at the Karnataka Golf Association Club on Friday.

The seasoned golfer from Chandigarh aggregated nine-under 279 to edge past his nearest rival Digvijay Singh by three shots and claim the winner's cheque for Rs 810,000.

The victory, his third ever, also earned him an invitation to play Dubai Desert Classic next year where world number one Tiger Woods would be defending his title.

Local golfer Chinnaswamy Muniyappa finished a sole third at 283, while SSP Chowrasia and Ashok Kumar were tied for fourth, one stroke behind at four-under-par, 284.
