Hostage rescued, five kidnappers arrested

New Delhi, Dec 22 (UNI) A man who was kidnapped in November was rescued and five of his abductors arrested, by the joint team of Delhi and Haryana police.

Police said Parveen Tyagi was abducted from Umed Garh telephone exchange in Sonepat on November 15 this year. The kidnappers have been identified as Tapeshvar, Virender, Javir, Sohan Pal and Narinder.

Parveen's family received letters from his kidnappers demanding a ransom of Rs 1 crore on November 22. They also received a ransom call on December 4.

Meanwhile, SSP Sonepat had approached the special cell Delhi for assistance.

Joint surveillance led the team to apprehend Tapeshvar, Virender and Javir near Bakhtawarpur at Haryana border. They spilled the beans during interrogation and a raid later on a house at Palla village yielded Parveen Tyagi.
