High-level inquiry over BARC analayser theft

Ranchi, Dec 22 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today said a high-level inquiry will be conducted over theft of analyser, containing uranium, from Rajrappa area in Hazaribagh district.

Two analysers were brought from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and one out of the two was stolen from a power treatment plant of Central Mine Planning and Development Institute at Rajrappa.

Mr Koda told reporters here that he was informed about it when leader of Opposition Arjun Munda today raised a question in the State Assembly in this regard.

He said the equipment carried uranium and radiation of Uranium would leave adverse effect in an area of 1.5 kilometers.

Mr Munda had asked about the government's initiative in this regard after the FIR was registered on December 4.
