HC dismisses scientist's petition against termination
Chandigarh, Dec 22 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today dismissed the plea against termination by Animesh Roy, a senior scientist working with Mohali-based National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) as not maintainable.
However, a Division Bench of Justices Surinder Singh Nijjar and Surinder Singh Saron spared the scientist of action for contempt of court.
Animesh had an outburst against his counsel in the court after hearing the verdict.
The Bench observed that the petitioner was being spared of action for contempt of court in the ''interest of justice''.
The petitioner's services were terminated after he had alleged that his seniors including the NIPER Director had begun to create ''difficult situations'' for him after he had declined to have them as co-authors for a research paper.
