Ghulam Nabi Azad bereaved

Jammu, Dec 22: The elder brother of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad died of a heart attack in Mecca last night, family sources said here today.

They said Ghulam Qadir Bhatt, who left for Haj on December 3, died following a cardiac arrest at 2140 hrs.

He was 66. He retired as District Welfare Officer.

Late night, the Chief Minister was informed about the demise and he left for New Delhi early this morning from where he will go to Mecca.

The funeral service will take place at Mecca, the sources added.
