DK forms human chain in support of Lankan Tamils

Chennai, Dec 22: Members of the Dravidar Kazhagam (DK) today formed a human chain in support of the cause of Sri Lankan Tamils.

DK leader K Veeramani, addressing the participants, urged the Centre to interfere in the Sri Lankan ethnic issue and ensure protection of Tamils and their properties. He also wanted that their fundamental rights especially 'right to live' be guarded at any cost.

He urged the Centre not to extend any help to the Lankan Government as it would ultimately be used against the interest of the Tamils.

The members and leaders of various political parties, including ruling DMK, PMK and Left, formed part of the human chain demonstration.

Meanwhile, in Vellore, DPI and DK activists formed a human chain in front of the Head Post Office. DK leader Sadagopan and DPI leader Sonnu Bose participated in it.
