Coaching for football coaches to begin on Jan 3

Kozhikode, Dec 22 (UNI) Aimed at augmenting coaching standards at grassroot level, German Youth Coach Volker Jung would impart training to Kerala footbal coaches here from January 3.

Jointly organised by the city-based Sports and Education Promotion Trust (SEPT) and Kozhikode District Football Association (KDFA), coaches below 45 years of age, are eligible to apply for the five day camp, SEPT chairman Arunkumar Nanu and KDFA secretary AVM Ashraf told reporters here today.

Mr Jung, who was present at the press meet, said sporting right talent, preferably below the age of 9, and imparting them expert coahing, would be imperative for development of football in the country.

Creation of an environment conducive for development of the game was also essential, he said.

SEPT Technical Director and Belgium Youth Coach Josef Akhther Hal was also present.
