BJP MLA withdraws resignation
Hyderabad, Dec 22 (UNI) BJP floor leader G Kishan Reddy, who resigned from the membership of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, today announced withdrawal of his resignation after a meeting with Speaker K R Suresh Reddy.
Mr Kishan Reddy had submitted his resignation and left the House following a remark by Speaker during the Question Hour yesterday, that a member should have ''minimum courtesy and manners'' when he rose to speak.
On the invitation of Speaker, Mr Reddy, along with senior party leader Ch Vidyasagar Rao and Janata Party leader Kommireddy Ramulu met the Speaker today and agreed to withdraw his resignation.
Talking to newspersons after the meeting, Kishan Reddy said the Speaker had explained to him that his remark was a general suggestion to all the members and it was not meant to hurt his feelings.
The BJP member said party National president Rajnath Singh, state president Bandaru Dattatreya, senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu and state Information and Public Relations Minister Mohd Ali Shabbir had also advised him not to resign but to serve the people, who had elected him.
