BJP calls 'Margadarsi' probe victimisation
Hyderabad, Dec 22 (UNI) BJP State Secretary and Former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya today alleged the government's action of entrusting the responsibility of probing the affairs of Margadarsi Financiers with its Advisor Rangachari reflected its 'ill-intention and amounted to victimisation.' In a statement here, Mr Dattatreya alleged the government had resorted to the measure as 'Margadarsi's' sister concern 'Eenadu' newspaper was regularly exposing the 'ruling party leaders 'corruption and the misdeeds of the government.' He asked the government why it had not responded when cooperative institutions like Krishi Bank, Charminar Bank and Prudential Bank went bust leaving depositors in the lurch.
Mr Dattatreya said though the Congress leaders had been trying to scare the depositors of 'Margadarsi' for the past two to three months, there was no complaint from the depositors nor there was any panic.
It was not proper on the part of the government to resort to ''victimisation'' and added such acts were not good for democracy.
