Additional sessions judge B M Jethani granted anticipatory bail to Asha Gawli on furnishing Rs 50,000.

An FIR had been lodged with the police on December two according to which the Akhil Bharatiya Kamgar Sena, an employees union founded by Gawli, had held negotiations with the management of a construction company on the compensation to be paid to employees who had been retrenched.

According to the settlement, a total amount of Rs four crore was to be disbursed among the retrenched employees. However, according to the FIR, Rs 85 lakh was siphoned off from the fund.
