Anos to remain Rural Development Minister : Koda
Ranchi, Dec 22 (UNI) Giving a clean chit to Rural Development Minister Anos Ekka, Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today said Mr Ekka would not be dropped from his Ministry.
Talking to UNI here, Mr Koda ruled out any need for changing the department of Mr Ekka.
Mr Koda made this clarification in the wake of allegations made by Congress MLA Neal Tirkey, who had accused the Rural Development Minister of maintaining ''discrepancy'' in implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act scheme in Simdega district.
Mr Tirkey had demanded inquiry into the matter.
Mr Tirkey told UNI that a detailed letter had been sent to the Central Rural Development Ministry and he was sticking to his demand.
Simdega topped the list of proper implementation of NREGAS, whereas Mr Tirkey had alleged that the projects under the scheme were done with machines, strictly prohibited in the Act.
Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Stephen Marandi had said the government would look into the matter.
