57 prisoners repatriated to Pakistan

Wagah, Dec 22 (UNI) The Indian government today repatriated 57 Pakistani prisoners, including three women and two children, through this joint border check post.

Most of the prisoners have completed their jail terms, ranging from two to five years, for illegally entering India.

They were brought here today from various jails in border states of the country. While 13 were lodged in prisons of Punjab, 10 came from Jammu jails and three from Delhi's Tihar jail.

Those freed today also included 31 Pakistani fishermen nabbed by Coast Guards when they forayed into Indian waters of coastal Gujarat.

The BSF handed over the documents regarding each of the repatriated prisoners to the Pakistan Rangers this evening.
