36 students booked for engaging in scuffle

Mahoba, Dec 22 (UNI) As many as 36 students, including a student union president, have been booked for beating officials of the Krishi Utpadan Mandi Samiti in Mahoba district.

Police said the incident took place under Charkhari police station area, where students of the Hedgewar Government Post Graduate Degree College went to seek donation at the Mandi Samiti office for their cultural programme yesterday.

On being refused, the agitated students entered into a scuffle with the officials and damaged the office property.

Irked over the incident, Mandi Samiti officials boycotted the work and all shops remained closed for the day.

Meanwhile, a case was registered against all the accused and the college had been closed till December 31 to avoid any fresh violence.
