15 'trouble makers' shifted from Kot Bhalwal jail in J

Jammu, Dec 22 (UNI) Fifteen militants and foreign mercenaries have been shifted from the high security Kot Bhalwal Jail here to prisons in other states while a list of 23 others prepared, who were causing trouble for administration as well as other prisoners and seeking comforts.

Following the clash between foreign mercenaries and security forces in the jail premises on Sunday, the state prison department had decided to shift those militants who were creating trouble for authorities as well as other prisoners and seeking comforts, official sources said.

Family members and relatives of the detenues, whose entry inside the jail was prohibited by the authorities for six days due to repair work, will be able to visit them again from December 26, they said.

Two under-trials, Gurmeet Singh and Prithpal Singh were shifted to Kathua and Hiranagar jails respectively while Bodh Raj, a convict was driven to Rajouri jail. These prisoners were supplying a large quantity of dry fruit to 'trouble makers', sources said.
