WeP launches new range of tech fantasy products

Kochi, Dec 21: WeP Peripherals Limited, India's leading peripherals company today launched a new range of tech fantasy products for consumers and business users.

Talking to newspersons here, MD and CEO Ram N Agarwal said in accordance with the promise to deliver consumers' tech fantasy, the company showcases four next generation products, conceptualised and developed on consumer research across the country.

The next generation products include standalone retail billing solution, an 80 column impact printer, multifunctional UPS and unique pen drives, Mr Agarwal said.

The billing solution, WeP Bounti BP-40, enables the user to take a bill without a PC and can store upto 2,000 items in its datebase, he added.

The printer, O Wep Bounti Rainbow, in vibrant colours and tranlucent finish adds life to retail store interiors and has direct drive technology with higher print load, Mr Agarwal said.

O Wep TOP UPS is the only multifunctional UPS in the world with digital clock, space to store CDs, universal mobile phone charger and an emergecny lamp.

The pen drives come with unique features like display of disk space and fingerprint lock with biometrics mechanism, Mr Agarwal said.

He said the company which had a trunover of Rs 350 crore last year was expecting Rs 400 crore this year.

Highly appreciative of the Kerala market, Mr Agarwal said the company enjoyed a market of 30 per cent and 40 per cent in UPS and printers respectively in the state compared to the national share of 15 per cent and 30 per cent.

WeP founded in 2000 is the largest employee-owned company as employees hold 64 per cent of the stake in the company and the rest by IT major WIPRO.

WeP with three manufacturing facilities in Mysore, Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh and Hyderbad has a capacity to manufacture more than 650,000 products and one million consumables per annum.
