Two arrested for nexus in abduction game at Malaysia

Chennai, Dec 21 (UNI) City Police today arrested two henchmen, who were part of an abduction seam that was played in Malaysia by a job racketeer, in the city and were on the look out for one more accused in connection with this case, who was said to be absconding.

Police said they seized a two-wheeler, a few passports and Rs 14,200 with air tickets to Malaysia from them.

City Police Commissioner Letika Saran, who informed about the arrest of Ramaraj (34) of Kodambakkam and Michael Raj (35) of Udaiyarpalayam in Perambalur district said the Interpol has been informed through the Malaysian High Commission in Chennai about the kidnapping of Subramani by the accused Senthilkumar.

'' We did not know about the condition of Subramani in Malaysia and were trying to contact through his brother Govindaraj, who is also the complainant. We will trace the key accused Senthilkumar through the help of Interpol officials, she added.'' She said during the interrogation the arrested admitted to the crime and confessed that they had played a role in the kidnapping and acted as per the instruction of one Rajapandi and Senthilkumar, who were the kingpins in abducting Subramani.

Rajapandi is also a business partner of Senthilkumar at Malaysia, she added.

Police said Subramani and Senthilkumar were conducting a job racket business in Chennai for more than four years without obtaining proper licence and many people returned as they did not have a valid working visa in Malaysia and Singapore.

The cheated people cornered the duo and Senthilkumar allegedly gave back the money to the victims. The duo had confronted on this issue and Subramani did not give back the share amount. Hence, Senthilkumar planned to kidnap Subramani with the help of some hooligans in Malaysia. The former asked the latter to contact his brother Govindaraj of Perambalur and claimed a ransom sum of Rs ten lakh.

Based on the complaint of Govindaraj, the Central Crime Branch police formed a special team and traced the henchmen Ramaraj and Michael Raj. They conducted a detailed search at their residence and recovered the valuables.

Later the arrested were remanded.
