Tribals celebrate new year in Tripura

Agartala, Dec 21 (UNI) Ethnic tribal people in Tripura today greeted their new year (1417 Tripurabda) with organising various cultural and social programmes to mark the day.

At Baijalbari in west district people assembled there with colourful dress to greet the day where traditional games, cycle rally and music programme were organised. The main function will begin tonight with folk music and tribals jaduni sangeet and kokborok sangeet and dance which will continue till 0600 hours tomorrow.
