Stress management classes for J
Srinagar, Dec 21 (UNI) Alarmed by the increasing incidents of suicide among Army troops, the Jammu and Kashmir Police will soon start stress management classes and psychiatric counselling for its stressed out personnel here.
According to the Medical Superintendent of Police hospital, the stress management and psychiatric consultation-cum-counselling classes would soon be conducted at the hospital here as per the directions of state Director General of Police (DGP) Gopal Sharma.
He said more than 43,000 patients have been treated and 206 post-mortems conducted in the police hospital here this year.
Giving figures, he said 43,222 patients were treated and 356 surgeries conducted in the hospital this year.
The Medical Superintendent said 6,593 patients were given dental treatment besides 7,016 x-rays, 53,222 laboratory tests and around 5000 USG, ECG tests conducted at the hospital.
While 11,178 patients were provided with minor surgical facilities, 1136 people were admitted in wards and given the best possible treatment so far this year, he said.
The Medical Superintendent said the hospital was equipped with latest infrastructure and caters to the needs of the Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel and their families.
All top-of-the-line facilities in orthopedics, ENT, surgical, gynaecology, dentistry, ultrasonography, x-ray and clinical laboratory were provided in the hospital, he added.
