SSL Energy signs MoU for 3 MTPA Steel plant in Orissa
Bhubaneswar, Dec 21 (UNI)The Orissa government today signed yet another MoU with the SSL Energy Limited for setting up of a 3 MTPA steel plant and Soya processing facility in the state at an investment of approximately 8751 crores.
While the investment in the steel plant in two phases would be Rs. 8609 crores,the Soya products near Paradip would be established at an investment of Rs. 142 crores.
The SSL Energy Limited,belonging to the Ruchi Group of Industries, will require 120 million tonnes of raw materials for the first 25 years for its 3 MTPA plant which would have facilities like the blast furnace, steel melting shop, slab caster sinter plant, hot strip mill and captive power plant.
The company proposed to set up its own captive power plant of 200 MW capacity.It would through one of its group of companies,also proposed to promote palm oil plantation, Soya Bean cultivation and establish manufacturing facilities for value added Soya products.
The company planned to set up oil palm nursery in Mayurbhanj and promote palm cultivation over 1000 acres of land within the next two years and manufacturing facilities for value added Soya product near Paradip.
SSL Energy Limited Director Umesh Sahara and Syteem and Mines Secretary L N Gupta signed the MoU for the two project in presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik,Industry Minister B B Harichandan and Seel and Mines Minister Padmanav Behera.
