Shriram Transport offers credit card to truckers

New Delhi, Dec 21 (UNI) Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd, leading asset financing non banking financial company today announced the launch of a co-branded credit card in association with UTI Bank for small truck owners.

''The initiative is another step in our effort to empower the small truck owners, thus deepening our relationship with the customers,'' Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd Chairman Arun Duggal said.

One lakh credit cards, being launched on the VISA platform, will be offered to small truck owners in the next one year, a company statement issued here today said.

R Sridhar, company's Managing Director, has said Finance Minister P Chidambaram will inaugurate the credit card on January 6, 2007 in Chennai.

By using this co-branded credit card, truck owners can withdraw cash from ATM, buy fuel, tyres, oil, batteries etc, in addition to the usual benefits that are available with other cards.
