PM conveys India's concerns on nuke act to Bush
New Delhi, Dec 21 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today conveyed to US President George Bush India's concerns with regard to the Indo-US civilian nuclear energy cooperation agreement while pointing out that many of the concerns have already been addressed in the law signed by the American leader.
Dr Singh conveyed his views on the agreement when he received a telephone call from President Bush this evening, according to Prime Minister's Media Adviser Sanjaya Baru.
The two leaders expressed happiness at the strengthening of bilateral relations, highlighted by President Bush's decision to amend the US laws to enable bilateral nuclear cooperation which received strong bipartisan support in the US Congress.
Both leaders expressed the hope that the remaining concerns would be addressed in the next stage of negotiations.
They also discussed other subjects, including regional matters.
The Prime Minister conveyed season's greetings to both Mr Bush and his wife.
