Lok Sabha Secretary General calls for popularisation of education

New Delhi,Dec 21 (UNI) Lok Sabha Secretary General P D T Achary has appealed to public schools in cities to extend quality education to rural and far flung areas.

He said these schools should take it as a mission to spread education among the less privileged. Though the government has launched the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, it was not enough,he said while speaking at the annual celebrations of St George's School here last night.

Delhi Metropolitan His Grace Job Mar Philexenos, noted educationist Valson Thampu, Delhi Diocesean Secretary of the Orthodox Church Very Rev M S Skariah Ramban, Fr Biju P Thomas, Principal Sara George and Mr M G George Muthoot were also present.

School children presented a unique music extravaganza called "Music-The Unspoken Word".
