J'khand HC directs to submit ATR in Abhishek's issue
Ranchi, Dec 21 (UNI) The Jharkhand High Court today directed the state government to file the Action Taken Report in Abhishek Mishra's death by January 8.
A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Muthuswamy Karpagyavinagam and Justice D K Sinha took suo motu action after receiving a letter from Mr S C Mishra, father of Abhishek, and asked the government to inform the court whether the allegations made by him were correct or not.
Abhishek, a student of seventh semester at Birla Institute of Technology, was drowned in Dassam Falls on December 8 when he went for a picnic along with his friends, including Ragini, daughter of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad.
Abhishek's father had demanded a CBI inquiry into his son's death.
The Opposition NDA had been continuously raising the matter in the ongoing winter session of Jharkhand Assembly.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda yesterday rejected the Opposition's demand saying the incident was a mere accident and now it was being given a ''political colour.'' UNI XC-AM KK YA DB1852
