Houses for victims of Tsunami hit areas by April 2007
New Delhi, Dec 21 (UNI) The government today said houses for Tsunami-hit victims will be readied by April 2007 at a cost of Rs 221 crores for 8,955 dwellings.
Speaking after the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), Finance Minister P Chidambaram said the original cost was estimated at Rs 738 crores for 8,500 houses which has now been revised.
Even the plinth area has been increased from 3225 Sq feet to 4505 Sq feet.
He said the project will start immediately as the construction season begins from January and ends in April.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs also gave its approval for the revival package in respect of Bengal Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Limited.
