HC asks LU from when it would start reallotment of hostels
Lucknow, Dec 21 (UNI) The Lucknow Bench Of the Allahabad High Court today asked the Lucknow University (LU) authorities to state when the university will start the re-allotment of hostels to students.
The court will hear the matter again tomorrow following the state government demanding more time.
The action taken report on the law and order situation on the University campus was submitted before the Court.
The Court further asked the varsity administration about the steps being taken to maintain law and order on the campus.
A Division Bench comprising Justices Pradeep Kant and V D Chaturvedi passed the order on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Jayant Singh Tomar, an advocate, for maintenance of peace and order in the University.
The Court observed that law and order is the primary issue at the instant while a decision on conducting student's union election may be considered later.
