Govt to build houses for tsunami affected people

New Delhi, Dec 21: The Government has decided to built 8,955 houses and other community facilities for the Tsunami affected people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Finance Minister P Chidambaram announced today.

He said it is expected to cost around Rs 1221 crores. The decision was taken at the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) held here.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs also gave its approval for the revival package in respect of Bengal Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Limited.
