Five killed several injured in two accidents in HP
Shimla, Dec 21 (UNI) At least five people, including two women, were killed and several injured in two separate road accidents in Himachal Pradesh today, police sources said.
Three people, including two women, were killed after the private bus, in which they were traveling, fell into a gorge at Panch Piri on the Naina Devi-Bilaspur road in Bilaspur district of the state at about 1720 hrs.
The sources said while the women were killed on the spot, another person succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.
Several others injured in the accident have been admitted to government hospital at Bilaspur, the sources said.
The sources said senior district officials, including district SDM Baldev Thakur, had reached the accident site to supervise relief and rescue operations, which were still continuing.
The cause of the accident was, however, not immediately known, the sources added.
In another accident in Mandi district of the state, two people were killed and another injured after their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at Fagni, about 30 kms from Mandi town, the sources said.
The accident occurred on the Balh-Tikar road in the district at about 1230 hrs, the sources said, adding that the deceased and injured were yet to be identified.
