Escorts Q4 net profit sinks to Rs 30.7cr

New Delhi, Dec 21: Escorts Ltd today posted a net profit of Rs 30.7 crore for the fourth quarter ended September 30, 2006, as against Rs 165.30 crore for the corresponding period last year.

The total income stood at Rs 626.65 crore for the quarter, where as the same was at Rs 681.26 crore for the same quarter a year ago.

The Group has reported a loss after tax of Rs 46.58 crore for the year ended September 30, 2006 where as, there was a profit after tax of Rs 120.61 crore for the year ended September 30, 2005.

The total income for the year ended September 30, 2006 was Rs 2,537.84 crore as compared to Rs 2737.15 crore for the year ended September 30, 2005.

The company said figures pertaining to the previuos year have been re-grouped and re-arranged wherever necessary.

''Figures for the previous Accounting period are for 15 months and hence not comparable with current year figure,'' it said.
