CPI(Maoist) killed in gang war

Chatra, Dec 21 (UNI) A CPI(Maoist) activist was killed and several were injured in an encounter between CPI(Maoist) ultras and its rival outfit at Sikri village under Simaria police station area in the district, last night, police today said.

Superintendent of Police Kamlesh Kumar said here said today that the extremist-- Vijai Rana was a CPI(Maoist) activist.

Mr Kumar said the members of the proscribed outfit had information about the maoists' movement adding the jeep and motorbike they were riding were also burnt.

Police had sent the body for posmortem and raids were being conducted in the area to nab the culpits.
