CBI arrests prime accused in Bihar MLA murder case
New Delhi, Dec 21 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation today claimed to have arrested Harish Choudhary, prime accused in Bihar CPI(M) MLA Ajit Sarkar murder case.
Carrying on his head a reward of Rs 50,000, Choudhary eluded the police for eight years. The judge sent the accused to judicial custody, posting the matter for hearing of his case on December 27.
Ajit Sarkar was shot dead at Purnea on June 14, 1998 over alleged political rivalry. Choudhary was alleged to be among the conspirators of the murder.
After getting a tip-off about Choudhary's presence at Anandpuri, CBI swung into action yesterday night and swooped down.
