Case against four IAS officers for corruption quashed by HC
Mumbai, Dec 21 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today quashed the criminal case filed against four IAS officers and five other subordinate officers for allegedly causing a loss of Rs 45 lakh to the Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation.
A Division Bench comprising Justices S B Mhase and S R Sathe quashed the case which was pending before the Kalyan Court, which had directed ACB to conduct an enquiry in the matter. The accused T Chandrashekhar, G T Bandari, Prithiviraj Bias and Shrikant Sinh challenged the move in the High Court. Meanwhile, the ACB also gave them a clean chit.
The complaint had been filed by BJP corporator from KDMC Nandu Joshi before the Magistrate's court alleging the loss of Rs 45 lakhs to the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation by the officers in purchase of water purification chemicals at higher rates from one Raviraj Chemicals.
The purchases were made between 1995 to 2005, and these IAS officers had served in KDMC during this period.
