Bus accident leaves 14 dead, 41 injured in Manipur

Imphal, Dec 21 (UNI) At least 14 people were killed and 41 injured, most of them seriously, when a private bus carrying them hit a hill in Manipur's Churachandpur district, about 90 km from here, this morning, police said.

All the injured were taken to a local hospital.

The police said the overcrowded bus hit the hill at Hengkot village, about 19 km from Churachandpur town.

Senior police officials had rushed to the spot to assess the situation.

"The toll is likely to go up as details of the injured are awaited," the police said.
