BJP workers throng party office on hearing MLA's resignation

Hyderabad, Dec 21 Dec (UNI) Hundreds of BJP workers today thronged the party head quarters here following party MLA G Kishan Reddy's resignation from of his Assembly seat to protest speaker Suresh Readdy's ''remarks''.

The BJP leadrer resigned following a remark by Mr Suresh Reddy that members should have ''minimum manners and minimum courtesy,'' when he tried to enter into an argument in the Assembly.

Soon after leaving the Assembly after submitting his resignation, Mr Kishan straight away drove to the party office and was engrossed in the party work.

The workers, who gathered at the office expressed solidarity with him.

The Party sources said that the workers wanted to take out a rally and start an agitation on Speaker Suresh Reddy's remarks but Mr Kishan advised them against such a move.

The Speaker later clarified that his remarks were not intended against Mr Kishan, and it was a general advise to all the members.

The rules specified that members should not speak when the Speaker was talking, he added.

Similarly, members also should stop their speech when the Speaker intervenes, the Speaker said. The members should not enter into an argument with the chair, he added.
