BJP expresses regrets over Speaker's remarks on party member
Hyderabad, Dec 21 (UNI) BJP Andhra Pradesh President and former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya today regretted Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker K R Suresh Reddy making some ''improper remarks'' against his party MLA G Kishan Reddy and hurting his feelings.
In a statement here, he said it looked, as if, the Speaker, who was unable to control the Congress members, was showing his anger on others. Mr Kishan did neither rush into the well, nor misbehave, he added.
Mr Dattatreya said, it would have been better, if the Speaker had restrained himself.
Mr Suresh Reddy reprimanded Mr Kishan during the Question Hour when he tried to enter into an arguement with him. He told the members that they should not interfere when the Chair was talking.
He also advised them that they should have manners and courtesy.
Pained by the remarks, Mr Kishan, immediately tendered his resignation in the Speaker's office. The Speaker, however, said that the remark was not intended against Mr Kishan, but was a general advise to all the members.
Mr Suresh Reddy, however, clarified that he would not accept the resignation and call the member to sort out the issue. Mr Kishan was welcome to the House tomorrow and participate in the proceedings, he added.
