Bakshi storms into lead at Western India Junior golf

Mumbai, Dec 21 (UNI) Chandigarh's Rahul Bakshi turned on the heat with a penultimate round of level-par 70 to storm into the lead in the senior Category 'A' of the Sunfeast Western India Junior/Sub Junior Golf Championship here today.

Bakshi's tournament tally now stands at two-under 208.

Overnight leader Amanjyot Singh submitted a card of four-over 74 to occupy the second place at 210, while Rashid Khan shot a level-par 70 to finish third at 223. Rudresh Sharma and Udayan Mane were both tied for fourth place at 225 apiece after shooting rounds of 76 and 77 respectively.

In Category 'B' Kapil Kumar brought in a card of 76 to lead the field at 220, while Chikka Rangappa (74) was second place at 230.

Bangalore's Khalin Joshi carded an impressive round of 73 to occupy third place while Rommel Mazumdar went 79 to slip to fourth place at 238.

In Category 'C', Ankur Chadha carded 69 to assume sole lead at 229, while overnight leader Viraat Badhwar shot 77 to slip to second place at 230.

In category 'D', Honey Biosya shot 78 for the pole position at 159 while Vidit Singh was 12 strokes behind the leader at 171.
