Bail petitions dismissed in Fahad case

Kochi, Dec 21 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today dismissed the bail applications of V M Kammad Haji and Fathima Beegum, who were arrested in connection with the arrest of Pakistani national Fahad on October 27.

Fahad was arrrested after an encounter by the Karnataka police and a case was registered against him by the Vijayanagar police station in Mysore.

Investigation of the case was extended to Kozhikode during which it was revealed that the petitioners had illegally allowed Fahad to stay in their house in Kozhikode and helped him to obtain an Indian passsport on a fake address.

Further investigation had revealed that Fahad had been an active member of a terrorist organisation based in Jammu and Kashmir named ''Albadar'' which had been indulging in anti-national activities.

Dismissing the petitions, Mr Justice V Ramkumar observed that the role of the petitioners was not that of innocent hosting.

Invetigation of the case is still in the preliminary stage.
