Ansal bags Rs 20,000 cr order for township

New Delhi, Dec 21: Ansal Properties&Infrastructure Ltd (APIL) today said it has secured a Rs 20,000 crore order for building a high-tech city on 2,504 acres of land near Greater Noida.

An MoU to this effect has been signed between the Government of Uttar Pradesh and a consortium constituting APIL.

The proposed city will have an eighteen holes golf course likely to be designed by Mr Martin Hawtree who has designed over 750 golf courses worldwide.

The city also proposes to have a number of sporting facilities like the Mahesh Bhupathi Tennis Academy, a polo and equestrian club.

The city will also have a world-class stadium where proper training will be imparted to budding sportsmen and athletes.

''We are extremely thankful to the Government of Uttar Pradesh who bestowed so much faith and responsibility on us. We are committed to accomplish this task in the stipulated time frame of five to seven years. This project will greatly accelerate the growth of the company ensuring greater shareholders' value,'' APIL Chairman Sushil Ansal said.

The project is expected to generate good revenue for the state in the form of various taxes as well as employment opportunities to various categories of job profiles including IT and Bio-tech professionals, he added.

A five star hotels, serviced apartments, convention centre and an exhibition hall are also proposed in the township.

The township will have about fifty per cent open area consisting of green areas and roads.

A part of the cost of the project will be funded from the recently concluded QIP of the company besides internal accruals, loans and sale revenues.
