Srinagar, Dec 21 (UNI) As many as 284 Haj pilgrims, including 101 women, from Jammu and Kashmir left here for Jeddah in two special flights today despite bad weather.

The pilgrims were seen off at the Srinagar Airport by senior officials of the state administration and the Haj Committee.

With this, a total of 9,750 people from Jammu and Kashmir have proceeded on the Haj pilgrimage so far.

About 10,674 pilgrims from the state would be able to perform the Haj this year as compared to 9,200 in 2005.
