TRS stages walkout over employment to Telanganites

Hyderabad, Dec 20 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Government today assured the State Assembly to effect repatriation of non-locals in Government jobs in the Telangana region in a time-bound manner, while the opposition Telangana Rashtra Samiti(TRS) staged a walkout alleging that the Government lacked seriousness in sending back non-locals to their original cadre.

The Speaker announced constitution of a Legislature Committee to monitor implementation of G.O 610.

Replying to the debate on the issue, Rural Development Minister D Srinivas, heading the Group of Ministers to oversee the implementation of the said G O, made it clear that information on non-locals in employment in all the departments would be got by coming January and repatriation would be completed by June next year.

Dissatisfied with the Minister's reply, TRS legislator N Narasimha Reddy led his members out.

Earlier, the Minister said the implementation of the GO was the responsibility of the entire house. The Legislature Committee should meet quite often to send a clear message to the bureacracy as the entire political class was for its implementation. No deviation of the Girgilani Committee report would be allowed.

Making it clear that the Government was not suffering from weakness, he said Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had warned stern action against the officials, who are not providing the required information.

Intervening, Home Minister K Jana Reddy informed the House that recuritment of local police constables for the Hyderabad city was on and the over 2000 non-locals would be repatriated once the training was over in three months time.

Seeking clarifications, TRS Legislator T Harish Rao claimed that employment of non-locals continued even after the State Cabinet accepted the Girgilani Committee report in toto and demanded the Congress party which had pressed for a resolution in the State Assembly for separate State while in the opposition, should now move for such a resolution as ''justice to Telanganites is impossible in unified set up''.

Congress MLA G Chinna Reddy, CPI Floor Leader Venkata Reddy, CPI(M) floor leader N Narasimaiah, who also took part in the debate, urged the Government to take immediate steps to implement the GO.

The Left parties expressed concern over the Government allegedly resorting to outsourcing denying jobs to local people.
