Sumi pips Irina to clinch 1st leg of DLF Women's Pro Tour

Pune, Dec 20 (UNI) Simi Mehra Guffin pipped Irina Brar to win the fourth leg of the DLF Women's Professional Golf Tour with a final round of one-over 72 here today.

Simi had a near-perfect front nine but her hopes of a sub-par card were dashed as she tripple bogeyed the eigth to turn in a card of 72 inspite of six birdies and as many pars.

Meanwhile, struggling with her driving for the past two days, Irina shot 78 to settle for a second position while Parnita Garewal, playing a steady game, managed the third spot with a score of 77.

The top three pros managed to thrill the gallery with their spectacular shots.

Preetinder Kaur the petite pro from Chandigarh, and Mumbaikar Sanam Merchant both managed to have huge improvements on yesterday's scores.
