Nine families of parliamentary attack victims alloted petrol pumps
New Delhi, Dec 20 (UNI) Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Murli Deora today said nine families of personnel killed during the terrorist attack on Parliament in December 2001 have been alloted retail outlets.
''The public sector oil marketing companies have made their best efforts in commissioning these outlets,'' Mr Deora said.
He said the matter has been taken up with the Chief Ministers of States concerned for allotment of land for setting up the retail outlets.
So far, four outlets have been commissioned, two outlets will be commissioned by this month and two more outlets by January next year and in one case, allotment of land by Noida in UP is due.
Also, under the special scheme 'Operation Vijay' in Kargil 445 allotments were made to the widows/next of kins of defence pesonnel killed in action.
Out of these 445 allotments, 283 retail outlets and 133 LPG distributorships have been commissioned.
In 29 cases, the commissioning is at various stages, the Minister said.
