Chadha Group to invest Rs 3,000cr on sports village by 2009
Chandigarh, Dec 20 (UNI) To encourage sports in the residential areas, The Chadha Group is coming up with townships on the pattern of sports village in many cities across north India and plans to invest around Rs 3,000 crore in the next two years in residential and commercial projects in these areas.
The Group has also signed former cricketer Kapil Dev to endorse its residential township projects-Westend Estate, coming up at Amritsar, Mohali, Indrapuram, Dehradun, Meerut and Bareily.
''We are developing the Westend Estate on the pattern of sports village. It will have international standard sports facilities such as cricket field, air pistol shooting range, football ground, Olympic size swimming pool apart from gymnasium, billiards, pool among others,'' said the company Director Manpreet Singh Chadha here today.
These facilities would be available exclusively for the residents of the township, he added.
Mr Kapil Dev, who was also present on the occassion said, ''I am delighted to be associated with The Chadha Group. Their commitment to promote sports and healthy life style and making provisions for the same in their projects is really admirable.
