Oppn accuses AP Govt of raw deal for Telangana people
Hyderabad, Dec 19 (UNI) The Opposition Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today charged the Congress Government in the state with ''lacking sincerity'' in implementing the Presidential Order and Government Order 610 to repatriate non-locals in government employment in the Telangana region.
''Justice to the people of Telangana is not be possible under the unified set up. Let the State Assembly adopt a resolution demanding the Centre facilitate formation of separate Telangana state. Only then, jobs can be ensured for those belonging to Telangana, '' TRS Member T Harish Rao said initiating a debate on the implementation of GO 610.
Accusing Congress leaders from Telangana of indulging in double talk before and after coming to power, the TRS MLA accused them of emaining silent for the sake of power.
''The very same leaders spoke at length on ''injustice'' to Telangana during the previous TDP regime.
''The TRS is not after power. So the party quit the Congress-led coalition government in the state when it implemented Polavaram and Pulichintla Projects which were deterimental to the interests of the Telangana region.
''Even after accepting the Girgilani Commission report in toto, employees from other regions were brought to the Telangana region on deputation,'' Mr Rao claimed.
Telugu Desam Legislature Party Deputy Leader T Devender Goud charged the government with doing nothing to repatriate the state government employees to their original cadre.
He demanded the government come out with a time-bound programme to repatriate them.
