Moily holds talks with Modi
Gandhinagar, Dec 19 (UNI) Chairman of Central Administrative Reforms Commission M Veerappa Moily today met Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi here and discussed various dimensions of improving administrative efficiency and the progress the state has made in this regard.
The Moily panel is touring each state and would be preparing about 13 different reports. Mr Moily also discussed with the Chief Minister the qualitative changes that are taking place in the administrative procedures of the state which has five lakh government employees.
Mr Moily later left in the evening for Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA), where a two-day seminar ''Group formation for national colloquium on social capital trust&participative public service delivery'', which is under way.
Talking to medapersons, he said that after the Right to Information Act there had been a sense of transparency in government machinery.
However, he refused to be drawn into a political question saying that he has not come to Gujarat to certify a government.
Those with Mr Moily's team included Mr V Ramachandran, Dr AP Mukherjee, Dr AS Karlo, Ms Vinata Rai (member-secretary) and the state Chief Secretary Sudhir Mankad.
