Chief of Air Staff to deliver Memorial Lecture on Dec 23
Bangalore, Dec 19 (UNI) Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal S P Tyagi would deliver a Memorial Lecture organised by the Air Force Association (Karnataka) to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee year of the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Golden jubilee year of formation of the state of Karnataka here on December 23.
The Lecture was organised in memory of Air Chief Marshal L M Katre, PVSM AVSM, an eminent personality of the IAF.
Addressing newsmen here today, Air Marshal (Retd) Ramamurthy, who is also President of the Air Force Association (Karnataka) said that the Chief Air Staff would deliver lecture on 'Aerospace Power in a changing National Security Scenario' at the HAL Convention Center in the city.
Describing Air Chief Marshal late Katre, who had served as the Chief of the IAF during 1984-85, as an outstanding leader, he said that it would be a befitting tribute to him to conduct a memorial lecture in his name. The Memorial Lecture, aimed at spreading the knowledge of happening in the aeronautical industry, would be made an annual feature henceforth.
''A event of this scope and magnitude undoubtedly provides the most beneficial exposure to all participating professionals. Several path breaking and innovative ideas in the area of aeronautical sector would be exchanged for the benefit of all participating'', he added.
Air Marshal (Retd) Ramamurthy said that the AFA comprises of retired personnel of the IAF and was the 'force behind the force' was aimed to promote interest in defense studies and in particular in the field of national security, air power, military aviation, general aviation and allied subjects.
