Bolpur, Santiniktan and Sri Niketan out of purview of Bandh
Santiniketan, Dec 19 (UNI) Trinamool Congress has kept the annual 'Pous Mela' in Santiniketan, the abode of Rabidnranth Tagore, out of the purview of its 48-hour Bangla bandh from December 21.
The party's decision was conveyed to 'Pous Mela' Committee this evening after the latter's request to the former to keep Bolpur, Santiniketan and Sri Niketan out from purview of bandh due to preparations of four-day annual mela beginning from December 23.
Trinamool Congress leader Nibir Banerjee conveyed this decision to the mela committee.
The mela will kick off with recitation of ''Bramha Upasona'' at Chatimtolla on December 23, where thousands of holiday makers from india and abroad visit here to celebrate the occasion.
