Keventer Fresh signs accord with Metro

Kolkata, Dec 19: Keventer Fresh Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keventer Agro, has signed an agreement with Metro cash&Carry international to develop the latter's Supply Chain Management (SCP) platform.

Chairman of Keventer group M K Jalan said today here that Keventer Fresh would provide the SCM for Metro's cash&carry wholesale distribution business in West Bengal.

He said, Metro Cash&Carry would provide the necessary technology to Keventer Fresh.

Mr Jalan said, the SCM platform would facilitate distribution of fruits and vegetables across 500 towns in the State. This would be ready by March 31, 2007.

Metro Cash&Carry of Germany plans to start its wholesale distribution business in Kolkata by May 2007.

Metro Cash&Carry, a 28 billion Euro company, had already set up its base in Bangalore and has plans to set up similar wholesale distribution centres in Mumbai and Pune.
