JODL to commission its Sebacic Acid Plant in March
Vadodara, Dec 18 (UNI) Jayant Oils and Derivatives Limited (JODL), a leading Vadodara-based castor oil manufacturing company, will commission its new Sebacic Acid plant at Ekalbara, near here, in March next.
The plant, being set up with an investment of Rs 75 crore, will produce 8,000 tonnes of Sebacic Acid per annum using castor oil as the main raw material with a view to expand its product range.
Talking to reporters here today, JODL managing director Rajesh Kapadia said the company had acquired the technological know-how for manufacture of Sebacic Acid and its co-products from China's Shandong Ocean Chemical Import and Export Company.
He said JODL, which has a turnover of Rs 700 crore in 2005-2006, was now focussing on developing value added second and third generation castor derivatives and oleo chemicals and setting up the Sebacic Acid plant was the first step in this direction.
In the next couple of years, the capacity of the Ekalbara plant would be increased to 11,000 tonnes, Mr Kapadia added.
Sources said the company has got 2.4 lakh tonnes capacity seed crushing plant at Makarpura GIDC, near here, since 1952. It recorded profit of Rs 20 crore last year, with its exports being more than 75 per cent of the net sales.
