Cow smuggler shot dead in police firing

Cooch Behar, Dec 18 (UNI) A cow smuggler was killed in BSF firing while the gang was trying to enter the country from Bangladesh in the Par Metligunjunder Haldibari police station area here early today.

According to official sources, the incident took place in the early hours today when four cattle smugglers were entering the Indian territory from Bangladesh side.

When challenged by the BSF, they tried to flee but one was killed in the resultant firing.

BSF has also seized four cows.
