Aircraft components manf unit soon near Bangalore
Bangalore, Dec 18: Bowing to popular demand, an aircraft components manufacturing unit will be set up at Devanahalli on the outskirts of the city at an investment of Rs 6,000 crore, Karnataka Small and Medium Industries Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu said today.
Talking to reporters here, he said the State Government had identified 1,200 acres of land just behind the Devanahalli international airport for the purpose.
Eight companies from Australia, the US and Europe, besides five companies from India have evinced keen interest in investing in the project, the Minister said.
Mr Naidu said the Government had also earmarked 1,000 acres of land at Devanahalli to set up a Hardware Park and a survey was being conducted now. The Government had decided to allot land at Devanahalli only to these two projects, he added.
The Government would release the balance subsidy of Rs 150 crore to Small Scale Industries before the next budget, he said.
